Summary
Business Challenge and Objectives: BASCO Appliances is a familiar name in the Portland home builder's market. With expansion into the Seattle market in 2006, it was time to enhance their site to reflect the growing business.Implementation and Results: A major challenge was the fact that the site needed to cater to two separate markets. It also needed high marks for usability while creating a very luxurious experience that mirrors the two BASCO showrooms. To accomplish this, we created a flash introduction that sets the stage for the user's experience with calm music and a welcome message from the company President. Once the intro has run its course, the user chooses to enter the Portland site or the Seattle site. While the location sub-sites are very similar, there are some slight differences in design and product lines carried.
Additionally, we created a custom web solution where BASCO can post clearance items for sale. This solution can be administered by BASCO employees and has proven a solid avenue to sell various products that are not suitable for floor sales.
